Estate Planning - what is it?

Estate Planning is planning for your future. A future where you might not be able to take care of yourself and a future when you are not here to protect your loved ones.

Usually an Estate Plan includes a Will, a Power of Attorney appointment, and an Enduring Guardian appointment. It also includes looking at superannuation, life insurance, and how your assets are held.

Some of things to look at are:

  1. If you share ownership of a home, is it as joint tenants or tenants in common and what exactly does that mean in a practical sense.

  2. The most protective and Tax effective way to leave your Life Insurance.

  3. The best way to manage your superannuation.

  4. Joint bank accounts.

  5. Blended families and how this affects children of first and subsequent marriages.

  6. Protecting your assets from costly challenges.

  7. The best way to protect the people you love.
